Doug Hood

Over his 30-year career, Mr. Hood has provided SBA outsourcing services to dozens of banks in the United States, served some of the highest volume SBA lenders in the country, and built his business as a knowledgeable SBA lender and advocate for America’s small businesses. Doug has been with Ardmore since 2014.
Over his career, Mr. Hood has generated over $50,000,000 of SBA 7a loans on an annual basis, including origination, underwriting, packaging, closing, servicing, and liquidation, in addition to performing audit engagements for loan exceptions and process improvement plans for community and regional banks.
He has received numerous U.S. Small Business and Veteran’s advocacy awards including the Georgia and Southeast Regional SBA Financial Advocate of the Year Award and was a finalist in the 1998 National SBA Financial Advocate of the Year Award. Another honor was his inclusion in Georgia Trend Magazine’s 1998 List of 40 Under Forty, a distinguished roster of up-and-coming business leaders in Georgia. In addition, he is often quoted in Atlanta and national business publications regarding financial issues affecting the small business community.
Mr. Hood’s reputation as a champion for small business has gained him a seat on the Georgia SBA Advisory Council, as well as an appointment to the SBA’s National Advisory Council where he served for six years as the Georgia Representative. In addition, he has taught capital strategy at institutions including Emory University, Georgia Tech, and the University of Georgia.
